All of our regular weekly gatherings revolve around three ideas:
Formation – Adaville Kids are “growing like Jesus” (Luke 2:52). That involves Spiritual Formation. All of our gatherings will be centered around a Bible person, story, or concept. We design our gatherings to help kids DISCOVER God’s truth, DEVELOP in their relationship with God, and DISPLAY this growth through the way they treat each other and reach out to our community and the world.
Fun – For kids, learning and fun go hand-in-hand. Kids learn best when they enjoy what they are doing. So we do our best to make every moment as much fun as possible, without compromising the message. We do this with games, music, art, drama, and storytelling.
Family – Adaville Children’s Ministry endeavors to come alongside parents as they seek to make their homes the primary source for discipleship and spiritual growth of their children. This will usually include ideas to continue the discussion at home or on the road or… (see Deut 6:7)
Sunday School | 9:45
Age-specific groups meet for Bible Study and other fun activities. Loving, gifted, & knowledgeable teachers guide children through God’s word every Sunday morning.
Sunday Morning Worship | 10:45
Nursery: Caring, screened, and trained care-givers will be sure your little one is safe and hears about the love of Jesus.
Preschool: 3-5 year olds have their own space in which they can hear God’s word, explore God’s creation, and know God’s love. Preschool worship is offered for the entire duration of the worship service. The Bible story/concept in the worship time is an extension of the Sunday School lesson.
Worship: Beginning in 1st grade, children are encouraged to attend and participate in the 10:45am worship service. A “Listening Page” portion of the church bulletin is dedicated to kids to be used as a tool to help them engage in the service. The church staff also strives to keep kids in mind as we plan and integrate kid-friendly elements into the worship service. Sometimes this may include a children’s sermon (where kids are called down front to have a group conversation with a pastor), special children’s music, a child leading a prayer or reading a scripture, or some other interactive element that will engage their growing mind and spirit.
Sunday Evening | 5:45-7:15
Bible Skills, Drills, & Thrills is an opportunity for children to gain valuable Bible skills including memorizing Bible verses, key passages, books of the Bible, and how to apply those skills and lessons to their life! Parents are invited to join us each night at 7:05 (or as soon as they are dismissed from Adult Bible Study) for a brief activity to help take the lesson home.
Heart Shaper gives Preschoolers their own version of Bible skills. Little ones will begin to develop an understanding of the sequence of events of major Bible stories and memorize Bible verses in an age-appropriate way.
Monday Afternoon | 3:00-5:00
Wednesday Evening | 6:30-7:30
Spark utilizes a variety of methods including art, music, cooking, science, drama, & games to “active-ate” faith and “spark” a love for God and God’s word. Each week, children will encounter the Bible story in a unique way. Gifted leaders guide children through hands-on experiences where they encounter God.
Preschoolers join the “big kids” for an opening activity and songs, then enjoy their own time of exploring the Bible story through the methods listed above.
